Maureen Yancey, affectionately known to the world as J Dilla’s “Ma Dukes”, is now in possession of a lost collection of the late-great producer’s lost tapes that have never been released, over 7,000 records and countless manuscripts, notebooks and artefacts found by UHF Records shop owner Jeff Bubeck after he took control of an abandoned storage unit owned by JD.

Unlike the rednecks featured in the reality show Storage Wars that try to profit off what they find in abandoned storage units, Jeff knocked back offers from around the world and instead handed everything to Ma Dukes for nothing. At present we don’t know what this could potentially mean for Dilla fans, but I’m sure there’s already talks of previously unheard material that could be finally released because of this find. The world needs more guys like Jeff Bubeck!
