Mass Appeal worked relentlessly with The Estate of James Yancey to bring forth J Dilla’s unreleased vocal album The Diary and after 10 years we were finally graced with the album on April 15 this year. Well now Mass Appeal have released a short documentary about the making of The Diary that features an array of different producers/friends/rappers that worked with Dilla over his life.

Snoop Dogg, Bilal, Hi-Tek, Karriem Riggins and more feature in this six-minute video, which shows old footage of Dilla in the studio, rapping live, and everything in between. If you haven’t checked out The Diary yet I highly suggest you do, as it’s Dilla in his purest form.
