JONES Jnr. is the lovechild of DJ Morgs (from Thundamentals) and Ev Jones (Rumpunch), and it sees them doing a fine trade in old-school soul revamped with new-school production.
Their warm, rich sound has outgrown the confines of Morgs’ bedroom, and this latest release sees them spreading their wings in their own studio. “We naturally delved deeper into the tracks, explored new sounds and used more live instruments,” says Ev of The Soultape 2.

If I wasn’t making music I would probably be… Playing in the NBA. They asked but I was like, yo, I got something I gotta do first Mr. NBA.
I’m addicted to… Beats, dumplings, candy and cigarettes.
The best thing about touring is… Instant gratification of what you do, good times on the road and getting to play pranks on people who aren’t in the ‘mood’. P.S.: Has anyone ever been in the mood for a being pranked?.
The worst thing is… Jetstar and Tiger. Also, McDonald’s breakfast.
My perfect gig would involve… Streaming myself live from my studio via hologram to Coachella with Michael Jackson as Ev’s backup singer.
The first gig I went to was… Frenzal Rhomb and The Meanies at Metro theatre, and I crowd surfed and I was 14.
The most important thing on my rider is… Dansuke Watermelon – $6,100 .
My hangover cure is… Gatorade, water, ocean and a bag of $$%@2^&(*@#$.
My fave youtube vid is… It’s a tie between turtles fornicating and that monkey with the frog one.
My computer’s wallpaper is… Dennis Rodman dressed as a woman.
