If you’re in need of a mid-week pick-me-up, well then we’ve got the goods courtesy of Melbourne rapper Baro. The young artist has been laying low lately while working on his follow-up EP which is set for release later this year, but we’ve got a delicious taster of what’s to come, with his latest single, ‘wdubi’.

Standing for ‘What do you believe in?’, the track is a joint effort with frequent collaborators Nasty Mars and Marcus, with an uplifting beat provided by Nic Martin. It’s light and positive, full of the kind of feel-good emotions one can only experience when consumed by love, which is never a bad thing.

Speaking on the track’s conception, Baro says producer Nic Martin’s gospel beat resonated immediately with him.

“[He] asked if anybody was down to rap over this gospel beat and me and Mars were with it. 2 hours later it was complete with a Marcus verse. More childish and optimistic as opposed to the cathartic and emotional vibes Just Problems gives. mans fell in love.”

It’s easy to forget that Baro is still just 18 years old but make now mistake, his sound as already matured during the course of his young career and we can’t wait to see what he delivers with his next project. You can catch Baro supporting singer Elizabeth Rose on her national tour throughout June and make sure you pump up ‘wdubi’ below.
