OG Maco and Rome Fortune have been instrumental in drawing focus back to Atlanta’s extremely diverse rap scene in the last 12 months. Their visual and vocal styling, while very distinct, are also complimentary and that was made clear on the first track Rome brought Maco in with on his album Small VVorldNow, as both of their careers enter their second phase of escalation, they’ve dropped the succinctly titled Yep. The mixtape’s name, as described by Rome Fortune, is the passing affirmation of the listener who, after ploughing through the nine track release, can do naught but sit back and accept that Maco ‘n Rome taught ’em.

This truth is assured by the producer lineup which is a choice cross section of beatmakers including SuicideYear, TM88 of 808 Mafia, Childish Major and Cubby. The diverse range of sounds only helps to serve the point that the two rappers can go hard in the paint no matter what with heavy dub influences on tracks like ‘Pearls’ straight back to the classic trap stylings of ‘Sex’. Maco even trades in his trademark energetic garble and hyped-up whooping for some seriously smoky bars. Stream it or download it above!
