Producer and instrumentalist Silentjay has linked up with Jace XL to create a sound that is in a category of its own. The Melbourne duo combine talents to bring together music that presents their own unique strain of future leaning, retro rooted R&B.

Sacrifice is their debut mini-album that packs a lot of punch for something that is just less than 30 minutes long. The EP came out with limited edition cassette tapes that sold out all 300 copies in a week.

Their songs are for those lovers of ’90s R&B who are looking for music that is as sincere as it is passionate, and it’s a testimony to the hard work these two have been putting in. Creating a track list that goes for only half an hour and still holds the weight of an entire album is no easy feat, and the pairs work isn’t going unrecognised. Having appeared at the Boiler Room, as well as alongside Thundercat and Flying Lotus, SilentJay and Jace XL are set to keep making waves.

You can check out the album on Bandcamp, iTunes or Spotify respectively.
