Mixing dark hip-hop instrumentals melting with vinyl crackle and velvet-smooth vocals is the debut album of Audego named aptly Abominable Galaxy. This universe of sounds is the creation of Paso Bionic and Big Fella, also known as Melbourne’s Shehab and Carolyn Tariq. Big Fella answers our Small Talk questions ahead of their album launch tour across the country. Dates listed below.

My name is… Audego

I live in… Melbourne

My LP is called… Abominable Galaxy

Some of the things that inspired it are… vinyl crackle, 40 hz, solitude, rhythmic harmonies, washing machines

It’s cover art looks like… Japanese goblin owl

My favourite track is… Rhapsody for the Wicked

The person I can imagine listening to it is… someone who wears sneakers, t-shirts and likes black.

My favourite mixtape would include… Beastie Boys, Slick Rick, Notorious B.I.G., The Black Keys, Mos Deaf, The Beatles, Bessie Smith, Public Enemy, Fiona Apple, Mr. Bungle, Nosaj Thing, Otis Redding, Alice Coltrain, Jackson 5.

When I’m not making music I… am chastising myself for not making more music.

The last thing I downloaded was… Jai Paul’s BTSTU

The next project I’m working on is… another Audego album! We’re already 6 tracks deep in that, so hopefully it’ll be ready by this time next year.
