Having chatted to his partner-in-crime, Jordan Stephens, yesterday, Rizzle Kicks’ Harley Alexander-Sule follows suit and catches up with us for a bit of Small Talk. Ahead of the duo’s Australian appearances at Parklife, the lad fondly known as ‘Sylvester’, gives us the lowdown on touring, connecting to his audience and that one time he almost got kidnapped.

My name is… Harley.

But people call me… Sylvester.

By day I… sing and play guitar.

By night I… mainly sleep or enjoy a glass of red wine.

The first CD I ever bought was… Janet Jackson The Velvet Rope.

The last was… Plan B Ill Manors.

If I wasn’t making music I would probably be… I’d hope to be acting.

The best thing about touring is… seeing so many people having fun to our music is great.

The worst thing about touring is… not seeing your friends and family.

The three items I must have with me on tour are… my iPad, my neck pillow and roll on deodorant.

The one thing I must do in a new city is…  sample the native beer.

I love the festival circuit because… it shows you how well or not your music connects with the public.

The strangest thing that’s happened to me on tour is… someone tried to kidnap me once but let’s not talk about it!

When an audience sees my live show, they can expect… crazy energy and a chance to let loose.

Rizzle Kicks will be playing at Parklife around the country in September and October. See the Parklife website for more details and for more on the duo, head to their website, follow them on Twitter and Facebook and stream their tracks below.
