Jordan Stephens, one half of Brighton hip-hop duo, Rizzle Kicks, sits down for a chat ahead of their Australian tour for Parklife. They may have been born in the ’90s and rock baby faces, but with a million single sales, 300,000 album sales and work with Norman Cook under their belts, we’re pretty sure these two are doing better than any of us. Here, Jordan gives us the lowdown on life on the road in today’s Small Talk – Parklife Edition.

My name is… Jordan.

But people call me… Rizzle.

By day I… rap.

By night I… write film scripts.

The first CD I ever bought was… Will Smith’s, Big Willie Style.

The last was… Alt-J

If I wasn’t making music I would probably be… flipping burgers still.

The best thing about touring is… getting to see the world; having the opportunity to go to Australia!

The worst thing about touring is…  laundry is a drag on the road.

The three items I must have with me on tour are… my notepad, fresh socks and Breaking Bad boxset.

The one thing I must do in a new city is… take pictures.

I love the festival circuit because… you get to spend time with some amazing musicians; hopefully Plan B at Parklife.

The strangest thing that’s happened to me on tour is… having my mum join me on stage for Mama Do The Hump!

When an audience sees my live show, they can expect… a huge amount of energy and good vibes.

Rizzle Kicks will be playing at Parklife around the country in September and October. See the Parklife website for more details and for more on the duo, head to their website, follow them on Twitter and Facebook and stream their tracks below.
