Before he was one of the most recognizable names and faces in the entertainment industry as we know it, Jay Z was just like the rest of us–trying to get his mug on TV (same). In this 1990 episode of BET’s ‘Rap City’ which surfaced online this week, 21 year old Hov appears in an interview with early mentor Big Daddy Kane. Without even being introduced by name, the baby-faced future mogul sends the interview out, spitting a brief but solid freestyle.
