We’ve all dug the Crate Diggers series over the years and now we get what we’ve all been waiting for – J Dilla‘s collection. The 26-minute mini-doco jumps back and forth from a heart-felt interview with Dilla’s Mum and brother (Illa J) and a vinyl excursion with the late Dilla’s friends: J. Rocc, DJ Spinna, Frank Nitty and Grap Luva as they venture into Detroit to open one of Dilla’s storage lockers and sift through a never-before-seen stash. It’s possibly my favourite episode of all time.
