One of the stand-out singles from Run The Jewels 2, ‘Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)’, has been given a profound visual treatment. Directed by AG Rojas, the music video is a confronting depiction of a very topical and sensitive subject – the physical conflict between The Cop and The Kid.

In a statement about the short film, Rojas says:

“The film begins and it feels like they have been fighting for days, they’re exhausted, not a single punch is thrown, their violence is communicated through clumsy, raw emotion. They’ve already fought their ways past their judgements and learned hatred toward one another. Our goal was to highlight the futility of the violence, not celebrate it.”

This video is the latest contribution of many recent rap projects that set out to confront us with, and open up honest discussion about, the continuing conflicts on the streets of America.
