In characteristically dreamy fashion, R&B singer SZA’s video for the third single off her EP Z, seemingly floats through time and space, seeing her appear along coastal roads, inside carpet warehouses and in shadow against flaming oil drums. The soaring track, mournful vocals and muted tones of the clip combine to create a mood which, paradoxically enough, is both subdued and slightly ominous, made more so by the inclusion of a snippet of previously unreleased and somewhat more aggressive interlude ‘Tender.’ The video’s release marks the end of a jam-packed week for SZA (who is TDE label-mates with Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q) seeing her release collaborations with Kitty Cash and Jill Scott.
