Watch the cinematic video for RZA & Paul Banks’ first collab

The newly formed Banks & Steelz drop a fire visual for 'Love + War'

Posted by

The video for one of 2016’s early hot bets for track of the year, and visual accompaniment to the debut single by Banks & Steelz—the dynamic duo of Wu-Tang’s RZA and Interpol frontman Paul Banks —has dropped. In typical RZA fashion, the visual for Love + War, also featuring RZA’s Wu-Tang cohort Ghostface Killah, is blissfully cinematic and humorously unique. In an homage to Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, RZA and Banks (or, rather, Banks & Steelz) act as curiously paired henchman guarding the entrance to a gangster disagreement. Like a hip, better-dressed Jay & Silent Bob, Paul Banks remains silent while RZA jokes, as inside the building a mysterious prisoner is brutally beaten before making way for one of the better dance numbers you could ever hope to see. Naturally, it’s hoped that all of this is a good indication of what to expect from the full-length debut of Banks & Steelz, even if only time will tell. Until then, we now have this brilliant video to re-watch time and time again.
