While Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group label has been seemingly treading water since its success with Keri Hilson in the mid 2000s, they might be onto something here with Tink, an artist who has consistently demonstrated herself to be just as adept at rapping as she is at singing. Perhaps fairly transparently, Timbaland has always been looking for someone to fill the position of his muse, left after Aaliyah’s untimely death, and Missy Elliot’s eventual departure from his company.

Tink might just be the one to live up to that potential, showing herself to be significantly ready for the spotlight already at only 20 years old, even landing herself a spot in XXL’s coveted 2015 Freshman Class. Timbo has already mentioned earlier in the year that “babygirl” Aaliyah appeared to him in a dream to say that Tink is “the one”; if we can briefly suspend our disbelief, this is some very high praise from either source.

This video, directed by Benny Boom, is a throwback to the 2000s staple of some good old-fashioned choreography in visually striking environments, including an illuminated LED dance floor. The song itself samples Aaliyah’s “One In A Million”, and while such an effort could go completely awry in any other hands, Timbo himself is on the boards, ensuring that the reworking is respectful and appropriately dope. Check out the visual from the Chicago starlet for yourself in the gallery above.
