While there is still no resolution to Thaiboy Digital (Thanapat Thaothawong)’s current immigration woes, it hasn’t stopped he and friend Yung Lean collaborating on a new track and video, ‘Diamonds’. Yung Lean (Jonatan Leandoer Håstad) and Thaiboy have just dropped a visual that is very likely going to give you ‘Pixelated Tears’.

With a Production value moving away from their trademark cut-and-paste visuals, Lean has dropped the green screen and ventured into the wild for the icy new video.

The sadness runs deep in ‘Diamonds’ with strong, hazy, methadone pitch-altered vocals, which are trademarks of the Sad Boys sound, underlined by beastly trap-like instrumentals with undeniably catchy snare drops.

The White Armor-produced cut from Thaiboy’s Tiger mixtape shows Lean’s progression – coming a long way from the surrealism of Pokémon Stadium. ‘Diamonds’ shows Thaiboy and Lean trekking over gorgeous snow-paved forests.

If you’re not up to speed, Thaiboy Digital faces imminent deportation and the visuals depict this. Filmed outside of Stockholm, the video follows the duo on the run from the Swedish government, which IRL, is actually what Thaiboy’s facing. “I love him like my brother and he needs to stay.” says Lean and so do the 9,000 people who have already signed the petition, join them here.
