If you haven’t heard Tkay yet, now’s going to be your last chance before her debut EP Switch Tape drops on the 24th of this month. The young rapper has morphed her emcee stylings and collaborations around forward thinking, rave-rap concepts that suck you in before you’re done with a single track. Her voice, reminiscent of M.I.A. stuck on speed dial, perfectly compliments the bounce beats of her collaborators such as Elk, Must Die! and Mad Decent’s Swick and Lewis Cancut.

Switch Lanes sounds fairly different to her last single U-Huh, swapping in fog-heavy synth for a Paces produced driving drum beat that falls somewhere between contemporary trap and early 2000’s Brit techno. It’s going to get jammed in your head with the force and volatility of a steak knife rammed into a toaster.

With the EP coming up, Tkay’s also announced a national tour. Check the dates out on her Facebook.
