It seems like with every White House Correspondents dinner, Obama gets closer and closer to kickstarting his post-presidency comedy career. Considering he can’t run for another term under US law, it actually seems pretty sensible (if George Bush can be a painter, why not?). This year, he really stepped up his game by bringing out Keegan-Michael Key of sketch comedy duo Key and Peele to act as Luther, the presidential anger translator. It didn’t seem to be as well received by the crowd as expected – probably because Key and Peele isn’t a show that’s likely to be enjoyed by the absurdly wealthy members of the American press. Still, the clip managed to evoke a couple of decent chuckles from yours truly. Check it out in the gallery above and, for comparison, peep a few of the original sketches.
