The creative mind behind the Vault by Vans collection, one Mr. Taka Hayashi, has released his first apparel collection and two new footwear silhouettes for his Spring 2013 signature line.

The collection is a seamless combination of timeless style and outdoor functionality, with premium basics such as the vintage inspired TH Football Shirt and TH Raglan Shirt developed with heavy-weight slub cotton. The raglan also features Indigenous striping accents as extra detail. As an accompaniment to this selection, Hayashi has also featured the TH Varsity Jacket, TH Army Pant and TH Selvedge Jean which are all proudly, ‘Made in the USA’.

The Varsity jacket borrows the classic bomber jacket styling and teams it with cyclist utility, blending waxed canvas interiors, taffeta lining and a rear flap storage compartment. The olive army pant and raw indigo Selvedge jean complete Hayashi’s apparel exhibit, with selvedge tailoring and suspender buttons.

Hayashi’s got you covered in the footwear department too, with a sizeable selection of new shoes. The TH Engineer Boot Zip LX is a revamp of Taka’s previous TH Engineer Boot LX, with a new mountaineering feel and rebuilt on a Vibram outsole with a combination of water resistant waxed suede and Horween leather uppers. Lined with fleece, and fitted a heel zip closure, the boot comes in both Havana Brown and Perla colourways.
The TH Cornice LX debuts this spring in Puce and Tortoise shell renderings, and the midtop combines the aesthetic of native and hiking footwear with a multi-paneled moc-toe sneaker with D-ring lacing hardware, Horween leather sideguard and ikat pattern ankle wrap.

Both the TH Cornice LX and the TH Engineer Boot Zip LX are available now at select Vault by Vans stockists, and if you can’t wait to get your hands on some of the apparel featured here, don’t stress, you won’t be waiting long – Taka Hayashi apparel ships this March to all good Vault by Vans stockists.
