Footnotes is a weekly wrap-up of everything that’s happening in the world of sneakers. It’s your cheat sheet to the latest news like new drops, collabs, sales, store openings, and anything else related to what you put on your feet.

01. Pics surface of a Nike VaporMax TN

This week some grainy photos leaked of what looks to be a Nike Air Max Plus with a VaporMax sole. Rumour has it the silhouette is set to debut in 2018 on Air Max Day. At this point we know anything VaporMax is a sure fire hit with sneakerheads, that combined with the resurgence in popularity of the TN will surely make this one of the hottest sneakers of 2018.

02. Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Zebra drops

Depending on when you read this you might still have time to enter a raffle for the newest Yeezy from an international sneaker site. If you’ve already entered one: goodluck. If you haven’t yet: you better hustle or please accept our condolences.

03. adidas Skateboarding Matchcourt Slip x Na-kel Smith

Pro-skater Na-kel Smith has just dropped his third colourway with adidas Skateboarding. The all-black colourway features three roses on top of the slip-on silhouette. Of the collab Na-kel said, “A hello to darker tones, and maybe more of a ‘see you later’ to the roses, three roses represent ‘The Brand with The Three Stripes’. The roses also represent where I am at putting out shoes with adidas, a bit of a tally mark.”

04. Raf Simons x adidas Detroit runners

Lately the style world has been descending upon style capital cities for the latest men’s fashion season. From shows, to parties, to viewings, it’s a hectic couple of weeks for all things related to what you’ll be wearing in the future. One bonus for this season was seeing buyers finally get up close to Raf Simon’s latest silhouette for his ongoing adidas collaboration: the Detroit runner. It’s a mix of canvas shoe up top, and chunky sole below, with a bright metallic strip fusing them together. Like everything Raf, it shouldn’t work but it does. The only downside is you’ll have to wait until towards the end of 2017 to get a pair.

05. JD Sports launches second Australian store

Since arriving in Australia with their first store in Melbourne back in April, JD Sports has been the talk of the sneaker community. Now they’ve launched their second store at the Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair shopping centre. They’ve launched with a bunch of Australian exclusives from Nike and adidas so if you’re near or going to be near the GC you better get in quick.

06. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star X Nike Flyknit Collection second drop

Off the back of their monumental first collab earlier this year, Nike and Converse are back at it with another Flyknit All Star. There’s four new colourways: teal (pictured), indigo, grape, and black.

This collection is a hybrid of Nike and Converse tech, featuring a breathable Nike Flyknit upper and a sleek TPU fused toe cap. With a Nike Lunarlon sockliner and a welded micro suede upper, this fit collection doesn’t sacrifice comfort either.

You can pick up a pair from the Converse site and selected retailers from Saturday June 24.
