Postcards: Robert Farley at Salton Sea

Eerie beauty in the middle of nowhere

Posted by

One of the greatest reasons to travel is experiencing places that are so far removed from your day-to-day. Some places are other-worldly because of the vast difference in human culture, and others are, well, just look like a whole other world. Photographer Robert Farley was recently immersed in the latter visiting the famous Salton Sea, an inland salt lake in California. Situated on the San Andreas Fault, the Sea is surreal, beautiful, and kind of eerie, with its desolate environment and creepily near-abandoned neighbourhoods. Take a tour of the Salton Sea in the gallery above.
