adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams are now a thing. And it’s serious. In an official announcement, the two parties have revealed they have entered into a ‘long term partnership,’ with the first drop of products to happen in the summer of 2014. With a lot less fussing and fighting than the Kanye x adidas link up, adidas are definitely positioning themselves as the big movers this year, adding the jack-of-all-trades to the now burgeoning designer roster, which also includes the previously announced Nigo.

In case you didn’t know, Pharrell also has his own environmentally sound (of course) textile company, Bionic Yarn, which makes use of plastic debris to manufacture yarn and fabric. This will be used in some of the pieces for Pharrell’s debut collection with the sportswear giant.

In an official statement, Pharrell says, “Working with an iconic brand like adidas is such an incredible opportunity. From the classic track suit, to growing up in Virginia wearing Stan Smiths, adidas has been a staple in my lfe. Their pieces are timeless. This is an exciting partnership for both me and for Bionic Yarn.”

I don’t know about you, but I don’t care what it even looks like, I am definitely copping whatever results from this because Pharrell. This also explains those custom joints I noticed during the Google hangout for the G I R L listening party, and his increasing choice of the three stripes tracksuit jacket at recent appearances. Check the short announcement vid above, which features the aforementioned kicks, and start putting away those coins for the first drop this summer.
