Denim Review #2 : By Corpus17-Jun-2012
I have always had a thing for a nice dark pair of jeans. I have been the proud owner of quite a few pairs over the years; A.P.C, Deisel, Rogan, Helmut Lang, the list goes on. But hands-down, the best pair I’ve ever owned came from a little known brand by the name of Corpus.
The pair featured here was found on the sale rack at Urban Outfitters for about $30 US, The orignal price was $100, and I would have paid every penny. These particular pair were a special collaborative edition between the cult label and the megastore.
When I first picked them up, I thought they were selvege, they were so stiff and raw, the perfect shade of pure indigo with the coveted green under-hues, and it took wearing them every day for weeks to break them in. But they fit perfect. I mean, really perfect, slim and fitted, but not skinny. Over the 3 years I have owned them, they have seen countless bike rides, bombing missions, hours and hours at the studio, and they been washed at most, 5 times. The high quality denim has aged beautifully, having kept it’s original shape and fit, and naturally whiskering like the vintage Levi’s I used to drool over in the pages of STREET JACK so many years ago.
