Just in time for the 20th FIFA World Cup in Brasil this summer, the FFF have got some new kit that blends French style and fashion with the best in Nike performance innovation.

Built using polyester from recycled water bottles, the “Marinière” design motif – a French mariner pattern – is making its return on the away uniform as a subtle grey stripe. The jersey, with its two-button henley-like neck – also marks the debut of a brand new FFF crest, which changes the now classic cock (sportif) worn by the French team since 1958. . Another nice touch is inside the neck, where a small pennant highlighted by the blue, white and red of the French tricolor appears.

Coupled with the striped jerseys are midnight navy denim-like shorts – inspired by the town of Nimes (the birthplace of denim… De [of]  Nimes [silent ‘s’]… get it?).

The French Football Federation’s 2014 away kit is available to pre-order via Nike.com and will be released on April 3.
