This backpack is the brainchild of former Harvard-trained architect Tom Pen. By virtue of his unconventional background, the designer brings an unconventional perspective to bag design.
“Our products are designed very similarly to how I design buildings. They are conceptual, practical, flexible, and very clean,” says Pen.
The Carter backpack is indeed all clean lines and warm textiles, and it’s pretty much the kind of thing you could picture Joaquin Phoenix’s character toting in Spike Jonze’s man–AI romance Her.
