To solidify their partnership with Reebok, Footpatrol’s latest project is rewinding back to the early ’90s with the release of the Ventilator ‘Hotstepper’. These kicks are an interpretation of Reebok’s Ventilator silhouette and focus on a particular piece of aerobics equipment that blew up in the fitness boom during the ’90s known as the Step. What’s the connection? The Reebok step was used in step fitness classes nationwide during the decade and continues to sell units to this day.

The shoe’s upper is comprised of a White terry towel material, just like the towels you’d see lying around in changing rooms, with Porcelain and Crystal Blue coloured synthetic suede overlays. The shoe is rounded off with a clean White midsole and contrast accents on the outsole.

These also come with a custom designed ‘aerobics-inspired’ gas mask rubber swing-tag and three sets of rope laces – White, Crystal Blue and a nautical multi-coloured flecked lace (a nod to laces used as neck ties for whistles worn by swimming pool lifeguards).

The Footpatrol x Reebok 25th Anniversary Ventilator ‘Hotstepper’ is due to release in UK stores & online here on Saturday 23rd May (at 5:00 PM AEST and 3:00PM AWST here). Sizes range from UK4-UK13 (including half sizes), and are priced at £110 (at the current exchange rate, almost $220 AU).
