Nike has gone cryptic with their latest women’s drop, with the six style capitals of the world (sorry, Melbourne) being embodied in six slightly different Air Force 1 designs — three high and three low. Each design is inspired by antique maps and history, with even the colour representing their respective cities.

The New York high reps the simple white-on-white, and the Paris highs are painted with the classic French blue. The Shanghai Air Force 1 high is adorned with an antique red that is representative of its lost dynasties, while the Tokyo Air Force 1 lows don a vibrant red reminiscent of the sun on the Japanese flag. Milan’s lows are dressed in a yellow ochre often found in Renaissance paintings, while London lows are coated with a softened British racing green.

Stylised maps are stitched onto the leather upper of each sneaker, with subtle circles on the maps designed to represent prominent Nike retail locations in each city.

The super limited edition Air Force 1 collection drops in Nike stores and online on October 23.
