Akomplice has well and truly stepped into the grown-man category with their Spring 2012 collection which they’ve just dropped the lookbook for. Shot on the streets of LA, five Akomplice stockists were selected to display the curated collection in the raw.

Stores featured include Conveyor @ Fred Segal, Black Market LA, X-Large, Brooklyn Projects, and Backside. I think this is a really smart and progressive gesture from the brand to give something back to their retailers and include them in the range story. Each person featured from the individual stores was given the opportunity to style the collection precisely how he or she saw fit. The result is a more of a portrait series than a lookbook featuring the range on the heads, backs, and bodies, of those who deal it every day.

The Spring 2012 drop from Akomplice spans the gamut from snap-backs, to tonal tees, and delves into clean cut and sew. The collection is refined yet street-ready, and while it fits the classification of couture, the skate influence is apparent. Each piece is depicted in its natural environment, where it’s actually sold, on the person of a brand supporter.
