“The comfort of a sock but the performance of a traditional shoe” – that’s what Sean McDowell, Vice President/Creative Director for Nike Running, envisioned for the Nike Free Flyknit. These sock-like kicks work as a second-skin and offer a stretchy top around the ankle, sturdy sole and heel, and the cushioning of a Nike Free 5.0 sole.

The Free Flyknits come in a variety of bright colours for men and women and, much to my content, a plain black design with the trademark white Swoosh. They’ll set you back US$160 and are available for pre-order before the August 1st official release date.
