As part of the Sakura Project, an endeavour by KITH NYC to champion the brand’s sentiments and aesthetics in Japan for their Sakura Blossom Festival, Ronnie Fieg has applied his infallible style acumen to the Puma R698, working his magic on the original and a purpose-created mid variant of the shoe.

Both shoes come in micro-perforated pigskin suede and represent the phenomenon of simultaneous sakura blossoms (AKA cherry blossoms) over Japan, with the R698 showing the beginning of the transition from burgundy through shades of pink, and the R698 mid shows the transition of navy through magenta.

For all those staying or travelling in the east, the shoe is available exclusively from the KITH Sakura Pop-up in Tokyo.
