Something has been brewing in the streets of Sydney lately. Native Tether is bringing together a collection of creative and talented artisans and designers for a special pop-up store in Surry Hills.Taking over Crown St’s blank_space until November 29th, accessory label Everyday Carrier (EDC), jeweller Mister Lui, men’s clothing label Dapper, and womenswear label, Dannika Zen will be selling wares and offering insights into the collections they’ve designed, made and produced.

Huon Lui, the brains behind Mister Lui, creates handcrafted rings, and hopes to invoke a connection between the object and its owner with each piece that is produced, expressing “…It is the message behind the pieces that should be portrayed.” Most recently, his homage to hip hop’s MF DOOM, the ‘Illest Villian’ ring has been making a name for itself virally, with co-signs from  Australian producer Ta-ku. Lui has also been making waves with fellow creators Andrew Principe and James Gyimah to build hand-made accessories label, EDC.

Sydney-based label and designer Dannika Zen has successfully created a growing following due to her patchwork leather apparel, knitwear and coveted footwear, all of which showcases her urban-casual-street style. Similarly, Tristan Young of men’s label Dapper started out like many other designers, creating clothes for himself and his friends. Dapper offers more of a cut and sew line with subtle, yet distinct features of garments with a conscious twist of style.

See all brands in the gallery above. The Native Tether pop-up is situated at  374 Crown St, Surry Hills and is open from the 9th to the 29th of November.
