Director Ali F. Mostafa and Danish shoe designer Camilla Skovgaard joined forces to produce their highly anticipated film Hotel Skovgaard: Room 77 which premiered at New York Fashion Week yesterday. Skovgaard’s designs are a bold hybrid of brutality and elegance, and she’s the mastermind behind styles like the innovative saw sole. Mostafa has made a name for himself as one of the most influential Emirati filmmakers, with his work winning awards including the ‘2010 Young Filmmaker of the Year.’

Hotel Skovgaard: Room 77, shot in Dubai, features pieces from Skovgaard’s Autumn/Winter 2012 and Resort 2013 collections, and is set to a custom track by Zebra Katz. The surrealist themes throughout the short film highlight the designer’s interpretation of fashion, beauty and darkness.
