Halloween is still a couple of weeks away, but apparently that’s too long to wait for some ‘It‘ inspired residents of the sleepy Californian town of Wasco. since the beginning of the month, residents have reported sightings of a clown, wandering the streets late at night, usually hanging out in car parks and carrying a dozen coloured balloons. Sounds fun!

Apparently it all began with one guy and an Instagram account, but if Batman taught us anything, it’s that copycats are inevitable; with more clowns popping up all over town and beyond. It’s these copycats however, that have seen Wasco Clown’s ridiculous level of creepiness, and raised him a fuck-off amount of I’m never leaving the house again at night by carrying weapons and chasing residents.

In the nearby town of Bakersfield, Police Lt. Jason Matson told the media, “We’ve been having sightings all over the city. They range from anywhere from a guy carrying a gun to a guy carrying a knife running up to houses.” In the same town, a 14-year-old boy was arrested for terrorising children.
