Prada have just released Castello Cavalcanti, a new short film directed by Wes Anderson, set in Italy in 1955. The film features Anderson regular Jason Schwartzman who is at his best as air-headed racecar driver Jed Cavalcanti. Anderson’s trademark kitsch colours and deadpan humour feature strongly, and the plot follows Jed as he crashes his car in a small village during the Molte Miglia rally. Prada’s mark can be seen in the appearance of some chic suits and Jed’s Prada-logo racing jumpsuit.

Prada are calling Castello Cavalcanti “an extension of the cinematic scope of the Prada universe.”Anderson has collaborated with the luxury brand before, directing Prada Candy for the label in April. Anderson’s latest feature Grand Budapest Hotel is set for release in March next year.
