Petra Collins’ first solo exhibition opened last week in New York and damn I wish I could have been there. Discharge featured a body of work themed around the shifting metamorphosis of female development, whilst commenting on female existence in our overtly sexualised and image driven society. So we’re talking photos of half-naked girls, girls touching themselves and my own personal favourite, neon signs.

Safe to say, the gal knows how to make a statement.

Luckily for us, Purple were there to capture opening night. Get a taste in the gallery above but do yourself (and me) a favour and get down there in person. The show is open until April 27.
