Sydney-based artist Elliott Routledge is known for his bold, colourful, abstract shapes that are seen painted on walls across the globe.

For his latest exhibition ‘Strange Oasis’ Routledge remixes popular iconography and symbolism through his distinct visual pallet, and offers us a place removed from the clutter and pace of modern life. The series presents us with familiar images that are transformed by the artist’s visual idiosyncrasy.

The exhibition features a large installation piece and a series of canvas paintings, all revealing Routledge’s interest in colour theory and contrast.

“Strange Oasis” is Routledge’s second solo exhibition in Melbourne. Opening night is Friday October 27 (6pm – 8pm) at RVCA Corner Gallery, Collingwood. The exhibition will run until November 12.
