Fujifilm’s latest mirrorless camera, the X-E1, has been spotted on the interwebs. While the details of the specs aren’t out just yet, there’s speculation that the X-E1 will sit in the Fujifilm range just below the X-Pro1. A leaked image of the lens displays a f/2.8-4 18-55mm. However, this lens has been spotted before, it was originally planned for the X-Pro1. All previous pro lenses were primes, suggesting the manufacturer is trying to break into a new market.

The X-E1 is very similar in style and build to the X-Pro1, except it includes a pop-up flash and electronic view-finder unlike the clever hybrid optical and electronic types found on the X-Pro1 and X100. Given the leaked roadmap, the X-E1 can be expected to launch in Autumn.

Details are scant, but this “affordable” mirrorless camera is likely to be more expensive than the competition. We’ll just have to hope to get our hands on it without breaking the bank.
