Titled “Weird Simpsons VHS” this short video has been created by Paris-based artist Yoann Hervo, which is a VHS adaptation of the famous Simpsons title sequence. Along with sound designer Florian Calmer, the two have turned the classic scene into an incredibly disturbing, yet funny, introduction, reminiscent of an acid trip.

In one of the final scenes the film expresses “This opening is just a small part of a collaboration project made up by Charles Huettner, Ivan Dixon and James Hatley. The original idea was to invite some animators to produce, in their own style, a short story in the Simpsons universe. Despite the fact that the project hasn’t been achieved, I wanted to finish what I started.” As terrifying as the idea is, we actually hope there are more of these weird lo-fi adaptations in the future.
