Weekly updates

This week’s WYD also includes a handy Christmas-shopping tip, completely free of charge. Yep, we couldn’t recommend No Vacancy Gallery’s Designer Christmas Market more. It pretty much ties together all our favourite things to do: check out new art, support local artists, and buy gifts for loved ones. Or you know, you could just treat yourself.

Either way, spending money feels way better when you know you’re supporting that home-grown talent. Another handy, albeit obvious, shopping tip for the busiest time of year is our latest issue. That’s right, the mag that’s on the top of everyone’s wishlist this year is finally up for grabs and works as a suitable present for anyone.

Not sure what to buy your mum? ACCLAIM Issue 36. Your boss? ACCLAIM Issue 36. Your landlord? ACCLAIM Issue 36. Trust us, just order a couple of these puppies in bulk, hand them out, and you’ll feel better than Oprah on Christmas. Oh, and be sure to check out the rest of the WYD line up below.

01. Acclaim Magazine Issue 36 Launch - Collingwood

We’ll keep this one (because it’s about us) short and sweet. That’s right, our new issue is *the fuck* out so you better pick your jaw up off the ground (because we know that’s where it is after seeing the front cover) and get your ass over to the Facebook event.

Hit that RSVP and we’ll see you tomorrow for a plethora of bevs and good vibes.

02. Grand Scheme Summer Launch & Exhibition - Sydney

Grand Scheme are back doing what they do best with their most recent master plan.

With their beginnings marked back in 2006, the brand has since grown into a touch-base for local creatives and their upcoming launch and exhibition stands as a testimony to that. Hosting some of the freshest threads out and the chance to cop some limited edition colourways, the night is set to hit the next level with live art and one hell of a photo series. Showcasing work from Sydney artist Jess Cochrane, Grand Scheme’s second Summer Quick Strike Collection is no doubt going to be launched with utter style. Be sure to head over to their Facebook event for the rest of the deets.

03. Ruler Wurc 6 Years - Montansa

Ruler Wurc perfectly embody what we’re about at ACCLAIM: style and bad behaviour. So it’s pretty safe to say that there will be an amplitude of the former and probably as excess of that latter at their 6th-year celebration this Sunday.

Yep, the fam behind the Melbourne brand have been putting in work for over half a decade now and they’re set to party in true Secret Services style. By that, we mean they’ve kept most the juicy details on the low-low but we can confirm sets from Juve, Hancoq & Baro and Swell, along with the drop of a year-long project. This isn’t one to miss so be sure to RSVP as soon as you can to the *free* event, more details can be found over at the Facebook event.

04. Designer Christmas Marker - Melbourne CBD

Christmas has come early for No Vacancy Gallery and their upcoming Designer Market actually has us excited by the prospect of doing some Xmas shopping. With over 14 designers involved, the market puts the very best in creative design in the limelight alongside plenty of drinks, of course.

Running from this Thursday through to Monday, it’s a great chance to check out some the freshest work from some of the most happening creatives in Melbourne. Be sure to head over to their Facebook event for a better look at the impressive local lineup.

@cat_rabbit is bringing her gorgeous soft stories and soft sculptures to our Designer Xmas Market. Opens tomorrow!!
