After reviewing nearly 18,000 photographs, the judges of this years annual National Geographic Traveler Photo contest have finally selected 10 spectacular winners.

I don’t know how you’d compare 18,000 different photographs from all around the globe unless you were some extremely intelligent cyborg species developed by NG for the sole purpose of recognising dope flicks—we’re on to you, National Geographic.
Whatever the case is, it’s easy to see how a photograph of a humpback whale and its newborn calf cruising around the Revillagigedo Islands in Mexico took out the top spot.
