Scott Marsh has managed to elevate himself from humble graff writer to working on commissions by the likes of Nike, Spotify, and Redbull. His newest exhibition is created from work inspired by Manet’s classical paintings ‘Luncheon on the Grass’ and ‘Olympia’, which feature nude women staring directly at the viewer.

However, Marsh’s painting technique are a fair leap from the approach used by Manet. Using dark and muddy undertones to create base shapes, he then creates emphasis and adds detail using strong fluoro colours with a mix of spray paint, acrylic, and enamel paint. The shapes and patterns that he creates give his work a sense of motion and energy.

Savoir Faire will be opening from Monday June 15 at Goodspace in Chippendale, Sydney with a closing night event with drinks on Wednesday June 17 from 6pm. And in the meantime, take a look at more of Scott Marsh’s work over on his Instagram.
