A clever campaign headed up by South African firm Lowe and Partners to help boost the profile of newspaper The Cape Times has seen a series of classic photos emerge re-fashioned into social media-friendly self portraits. In a time devoid of smartphones and Instagram, these 1940s classics are reimagined as if the subjects have taken them themselves. We’re loving the bossin’ selfie of Churchill dragging on his signature cigar and the coy shots of Jackie Kennedy posing next to her POTUS hubby.

We’re seriously intrigued and can’t help wondering how Hitler’s socials would have looked…
