Have you ever been watching a movie and thought, “Gee, I wonder what that car would like as a Transformer?”

Neither have I. But if you have, then you’re in luck – animator Darren Rawlings has reinvented some of entertainment’s most iconic vehicles into ’80s style Transformers, with a retro colour palette to to match.

Some of these fun reinterpretations include the DeLorean from Back to the Futurethe Batmobile, the Party Wagon from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Mach Five from Speed Racer, General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard and more.

In an introductory post about his series, If They Could Transform, Rawlings said:
“My next little series that I’ve decided to do for fun … taking iconic vehicles from old shows and creating a robot form for them…It’s a good excuse to draw robots while practicing drawing vehicles!”

With Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox nowhere in sight, Transformers purists are left to rejoice in this collection of nostalgic goodness.

My one criticism is that Rawlings left out the infamous/hilarious dog-van from Dumb and Dumber. Ah well, next time.
