OBEY founder/artist/ graphic designer/activist and all round good guy, Shepard Fairey was recently employed by the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) to design their space suit patch and I would officially like to give props to CASIS for bringin’ the street to space. Its mission is “to harness the imagination of both American entrepreneurs and scientists alike to aid in accelerating and facilitating space-based research as well as generating public awareness of the National Lab’s research that in turn makes space science more accessible to the world.” That’s a pretty long-winded spiel but if they want to “harness imagination” and “generate public awareness” they went and got the right guy for the job.
