It’s the rare occasion when a dark, moonless night topped with icy cold winds is better spent outdoors. The Aurora Australis, otherwise known as the Southern Lights, had hero photographers camped beneath the stars, documenting the majestic solar flares that lit up the sky over the weekend.
The nightly fluorescents could be seen from the southern corners of Australia including Tasmania, Victoria, and parts of New South Wales. View our gallery for the best of social media’s #auroraaustralis.
