If you were born and raised in Australia the early ’90s, chances are you’re already familiar with Plucka Duck, the glorified human-sized muppet from the now defunct variety show Hey! Hey! It’s Saturday! After the show’s final episode, Plucka Duck was thrown out onto the street with few job prospects. Within the space of a year, he had gone from a paragon of style and an icon of televised Nissan Pulsar giveaways to a dirty gutter duck offering billjobs for drug money. Thankfully, some kind soul on Facebook has given him an opportunity for redemption by turning him into a meme.
