After being resurrected in 2003, it seems that Matt Groening‘s second offering in TV land has been given another kick to the curb by its network. After producing four more seasons, along with a handful of direct-to-DVD films, Comedy Central has decided not to renew the show, giving the series its third series finale out of eight seasons. But Greoning continues to be optimistic about the series, stating: “We would love to continue. We have many more stories to tell. But if we don’t, this is a really great way to go out”. Either way, Futurama fans need to soak the next season of adventures from the Planet Express crew in while they can, as it may be their last.
