There’s been some crazy back and forth between the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) and both Yarra Trams and Metro Trains this past month. We’ve tried to report it to you as best we can, but the cancellations keep getting cancelled and even now final negotiations have still not been made.

Here’s what’s happening this time: some services between the hours of 4am and 7am on Thursday morning, as well as some services between 10am and 2pm on Friday are going to be cancelled. The RTBU has said in a statement that these are in fact not cancellations, but a slowing down of services.

The strikes take place as the RTBU negotiates with Metro Trains and Yarra Trams over an 18% pay raises for all public transport employees.
