Let’s face it; no one likes getting up in the morning. We’ve all been guilty of setting 20 different alarms, two hours before you actually need to be awake, five minutes apart, and snoozing them all, only to sleep through an important meeting or simply just breakfast. Never fear, Ruggie has your back.

Ruggie is a pressure sensitive alarm clock that actually forces you to get out of bed. It looks just like a soft mat and lives on the floor, as close or far away to your bed as you like. The clock runs off three AA batteries and can be hooked up to a computer to set the alarm and customise motivational morning messages. The revolutionary idea is that Ruggie can’t be snoozed; you actually have to put your body weight onto it by standing on it for at least three seconds to stop the sound of the alarm. When you actually have to stand up out of bed there’s no chance you’ll be late for another appointment or sleep through another alarm.

The idea is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter and, with around two months still to go, have already reached $100,000 and doubled their pledge.
