So it looks like everyone’s opening up today. Drake sat down with The Fader for a rare extended interview for the cover of their 100th issue and talked about his stellar (and sometimes heated) 2015 and the album we’ve all been waiting for, Views from the 6. Despite saying he would not do magazine interviews anymore, Drizzy  was definitely peak Drake in this one, speaking pretty openly about all the highs and lows of this year. He even brings up the whole Meek Mill/diss track saga himself, which provides a pretty interesting insight into what was going through his mind during the whole debacle. Check out some of his Views below.

On If You’re Reading this it’s Too Late:

By the standard I hold myself and 40 to, it’s a bit broken. There’s corners cut, in the sense of fluidity and song transition, and just things that we spend weeks and months on that make our albums what they are.”

On Skepta:

“I was a Skepta fan, but after meeting Skepta… we were brothers immediately. You don’t get that too much in this thing that we’re in, honestly.”

On the Meek Mill beef:

“This is a discussion about music, and no one’s putting forth any music?… You’re gonna engage in a conversation about writing music, and delivering music, with me? And not have anything to put forth on the table?”

On how he actually does create his songs:

“I need, sometimes, individuals to spark an idea so that I can take off running. I don’t mind that. And those recordings—they are what they are. And you can use your own judgment on what they mean to you.”
